Dental Crowns Near You

Teeth can become weakened because of decay, fractures, large restorations, or day-to-day wear and tear. When a tooth no longer has enough strength to function properly on its own, additional protection may be needed to help prevent further damage. Dental crowns are used to restore and support teeth that have been affected by significant wear or damage. At Greystone Dental, we provide dental crowns in Chilliwack for patients who require additional support for damaged or weakened teeth.

Treatment is planned in accordance with the condition of the tooth and your oral health. If you are considering dental crowns near you, a consultation can help determine whether crown treatment may be appropriate for your needs.

What Are Dental Crowns

A crown is a dental restoration which is placed on the damaged or weakened tooth to help protect it and restore its normal shape and function.

Dental crowns may be considered for:

  • Teeth with large fillings
  • Cracked or fractured teeth
  • Teeth affected by extensive decay
  • Teeth following root canal treatment
  • Worn teeth
  • Teeth requiring added support

We provide dental crowns in Chilliwack to help restore teeth that require additional protection and structural support.

How Dental Crowns Restore Teeth

A dental crown is used to restore and support a tooth that has lost its natural structure or strength. Each crown is designed to fit comfortably and function properly.

Before treatment, the tooth is carefully prepared, and impressions or digital scans may be taken. These records are used to create a crown that fits properly and supports normal chewing and biting.

Dental crowns may help restore:

  • Strength to a weakened tooth
  • Chewing ability
  • Lost tooth structure
  • Bite function
  • Tooth appearance
  • Daily oral function

Our dentist in Chilliwack will assess the tooth and discuss whether a dental crown may be suitable for your situation.

What To Expect During Your Dental Crown Appointment

The consultation for a dental crown involves a thorough assessment of the affected tooth and a discussion of any concerns you may have. The dentist will assess the tooth, review any symptoms you are experiencing, and determine whether crown treatment may be appropriate for your needs.

You may discuss concerns such as cracks, large fillings, tooth wear, chewing discomfort, or previous dental treatment. If you are considering dental crowns near you, the consultation can help you better understand the treatment process and available options.

Keeping Your Crown And Tooth Healthy

A dental crown is used to help restore and protect a weakened or damaged tooth. Ongoing dental care plays an important role in preserving the condition of a crowned tooth. Consistent oral hygiene practices and routine dental visits contribute to the long-term health of the restoration and the surrounding oral structures.

Patients may be advised to:

  • Brush and floss every day
  • Attend regular dental exams and cleanings
  • Monitor the treated tooth for any changes in comfort
  • Maintain consistent oral hygiene habits at home

Regular visits to a dentist near you can help evaluate the condition of the crown and monitor the surrounding teeth and gums.
