TMJ Treatment In Chilliwack

TMJ Treatment Near You

Jaw discomfort, clicking sounds, headaches, or difficulty while chewing can sometimes be linked to problems involving the temporomandibular joints, commonly known as the TMJ. These joints help control everyday jaw movements such as speaking and chewing. When the jaw joints or surrounding muscles become strained, patients may begin experiencing discomfort that affects daily oral function and comfort. At Greystone Dental, we offer TMJ treatment in Chilliwack for patients experiencing jaw pain, clenching habits, or bite-related concerns affecting jaw movement and comfort.

Treatment recommendations are based on jaw function, bite alignment, symptoms, and overall oral health needs. If you are looking for TMJ treatment near you, a dental consultation may help determine which treatment options may be appropriate for your condition.

What Is TMJ Treatment

TMJ treatment focuses on managing symptoms that are related to the jaw joints and surrounding muscles. Jaw discomfort may develop due to clenching, grinding, bite imbalance, muscle strain, or prolonged stress on the temporomandibular joints.

TMJ treatment may be recommended for concerns such as:

  • Jaw pain or tightness
  • Difficulty chewing comfortably
  • Jaw locking
  • Frequent headaches
  • Facial or jaw muscle tension

We provide TMJ treatment in Chilliwack to help reduce jaw-related discomfort and improve everyday oral function.

How TMJ Treatment Works

TMJ treatment focuses on reducing pressure on the jaw joints and surrounding muscles while improving jaw movement and comfort. Depending on the cause and severity of symptoms, treatment may involve oral appliances, bite adjustments, or recommendations to reduce jaw strain.

TMJ treatment may help improve:

  • Jaw comfort
  • Chewing function
  • Jaw movement
  • Muscle tension
  • Headaches related to jaw strain
  • Overall bite comfort

Our dentist in Chilliwack will carefully evaluate your symptoms, bite alignment, and jaw function to determine whether TMJ treatment may be suitable for your needs.

What To Expect During A TMJ Consultation

TMJ consultations focus on understanding what may be causing pressure or strain around the jaw joints and surrounding muscles. During the visit, the dentist may evaluate how the jaw opens and closes, check for bite imbalance, and look for signs of grinding or clenching that may be affecting jaw comfort.

Patients may also discuss symptoms such as headaches, jaw stiffness, clicking sounds, ear discomfort, or tension while chewing. If needed, digital imaging may also be recommended to get a clearer view of the jaw joints before treatment recommendations are made.

If you are looking for TMJ treatment near you, understanding the source of jaw discomfort may help guide appropriate treatment recommendations.

Managing TMJ Symptoms

Managing TMJ-related symptoms often involves reducing pressure on the jaw joints and maintaining healthy oral habits. Following treatment recommendations and attending regular dental visits may also help monitor changes in jaw function and overall comfort.

Patients may be advised to:

  • Avoid clenching or grinding habits
  • Avoid foods that may put strain on the jaw
  • Attend routine dental visits
  • Follow the guidance provided for reducing jaw strain and tension

Regular visits with a dentist near you may also help monitor jaw function and support overall oral health.
