Tooth Extractions In Chilliwack

Tooth Extractions Near You

Severely damaged or infected teeth can sometimes affect oral comfort, chewing ability, and overall dental health. In certain situations, removing a tooth may be recommended when it cannot be restored properly or when keeping the tooth may affect surrounding teeth and gums. Tooth extractions are commonly performed to help relieve discomfort and support overall oral health. At Greystone Dental, we provide tooth extractions in Chilliwack for patients with tooth damage, infection, overcrowding, or other dental concerns that require tooth removal.

Treatment recommendations are based on the condition of the tooth, surrounding tissues, and overall oral health needs. If you are looking for tooth extractions near you, a dental examination may help determine whether extraction treatment may be appropriate for your situation.

What Are Tooth Extractions

A tooth extraction is a dental procedure used to remove a tooth when it cannot be treated or preserved. Extractions may be recommended for a tooth that is affected by severe decay, infection, fractures, or overcrowding.

Tooth extractions may be recommended for:

  • Severely damaged teeth and tooth decay
  • Dental infections
  • Broken teeth
  • Overcrowding
  • Impacted teeth

We provide tooth extractions in Chilliwack to help protect oral health and reduce discomfort caused by problematic teeth.

How Tooth Extractions Work

Tooth extraction treatment focuses on removing the affected tooth while helping protect the surrounding gums and nearby teeth. Before the procedure begins, the area is anesthetized to help improve comfort during the dental treatment.

Depending on the condition and position of the tooth, the extraction process may vary slightly from patient to patient. After the tooth is removed, the dental team will provide instructions to help support healing and recovery.

Tooth extractions may help improve:

  • Dental discomfort
  • Pressure caused by damaged teeth
  • Oral infections
  • Overcrowding concerns
  • Jaw discomfort related to impacted teeth
  • Overall oral health

Our dentist in Chilliwack will carefully examine the affected tooth and surrounding structures to determine whether extraction treatment may be necessary.

What To Expect During A Tooth Extraction Consultation

Before recommending a tooth extraction, the dentist will assess the affected tooth and the surrounding area to understand the extent of damage or infection. X-rays may also be used to examine the tooth roots, bone support, and positioning of the tooth below the gums before planning treatment.

The dental team may also discuss symptoms such as swelling, tooth pain, pressure while chewing, or difficulty related to impacted or damaged teeth. If you are looking for tooth extractions near you, understanding the process beforehand may help you feel more comfortable and prepared before treatment begins.

Recovery After A Tooth Extraction

Proper care after a tooth extraction can help the area heal more comfortably and reduce the risk of complications during recovery. Following the instructions provided after treatment and keeping the mouth clean may also help protect the extraction site as it heals.

Patients may be advised to:

  • Avoid smoking after the extraction
  • Keep the area around the extraction site clean
  • Attend regular dental visits
  • Contact the dental team if swelling or discomfort increases

Regular visits with a dentist near you may also help monitor the healing process and support overall oral health after extraction treatment.
